Year: 2011
Awarded to: Phil Harris

21 year old all-round sportsman Phil Harris is a young man who is certainly going places with his cricket.  Having completed a very successful season with Barnards Green, which again saw them promoted in the Birmingham & District premier league, Phil spent the winter playing football with Westfields (Hereford), and honing his cricket skills at his university team in South Wales.  Early in 2012 his university team went to Lords to play in the university indoor finals and his side won the national tournament, and Phil was named player of the day. Added to this, during the winter Phil has been signed by Herefordshire CCC to play minor counties cricket and he has had trials with Kent CCC and the Unicorns.
Phil started playing for Barnards Green in 2005, following in his father’s footsteps. He has represented Worcestershire under 12's to under 16's, and in 2009-10 had a season in Western Australia playing for Hannans, a great experience. In 2011 season, Phil scored 833 runs in div 3 of the Birmingham League at an average of 52.06 and took 32 wickets with his right arm medium fast bowling at an average of 20.19. Always smartly turned out and showing a great respect for the game, the future looks very bright for Phil Harris, and it is pleasing to note that when at the club  he always has time to help with younger players and advising them with coaching etc.   He is a great credit to Barnards Green CC.
