Match Report

On a dank and dull day the Conference elected to bat after winning the toss in a 40 overs a side game.

They lost an early wicket but Jamie Harris (Halesowen) with 49 and skipper Laeq Chishti (Penkridge) 31 gave Conference a decent start and were supported by Zain Shahid (Highcroft) with 34. Thereafter a mid-innings collapse found Conference struggling to reach a decent total with Haseeb Khan (Chaddesley Corbett) with 26 not out doing his best to retrieve the situation. This enabled Conference to reach 183 for seven wickets in their 40 overs.

In response, Worcestershire League made a fine start and had reached 90 for two wickets before they too started to struggle against some excellent slow bowling  from Kuldip Diwan (ex-Wombourne) who took  3 for 32 and Mohammad Akeel (Dorridge) with 2 for 36. A very tight situation developed with the League side requiring three runs off the last over which they achieved for the loss of six wickets with B Cooke (Colwall) scoring a splendid 50.

A most enjoyable game and thanks to Kidderminster CC  for the use of the ground and  excellent catering.
