Match Report

This was a 40 overs match in which Conference batted first against a steady School opening attack. Wickets fell at regular intervals and with the score on 121 for 5 wickets Williamson (80) was joined by Roslyn (50). The pair added 96 for the 6 th wicket with some enterprising batting and the innings closed with the score on 221 for 8 wickets. For the School, Mir, Roll and Graham each took 2 wickets  with the latter showing excellent control for a young leg spinner.
For the School the first wicket fell with 52 runs on the board. 3 further wickets fell relatively cheaply but with Grace at the crease the run rate increased significantly. Striking the ball handsomely all  round the wicket he was eventually caught on the boundary for 84. The damage had been done and  the School passed the MCCC total with 4 wickets and 3 overs in hand. For Conference, Reynolds and  Fackerell each took 2 wickets.
After the match, Grace was presented with the MCCC School’s player of the match award. This was an enjoyable game played in excellent spirit. Thanks go to the School for preparing a goodwicket and for their generous hospitality throughout the afternoon. Thanks also to the umpires and scorers for their dedication throughout the afternoon
